Why should you join us?

We follow the traditional Pilates method but incorporate contemporary thinking about rehabilitation and athletic performance to enhance the exercises. This keeps the workouts fresh and allows us to modify the class to suit your ability. During the course, we will focus on using our breathing to help you move through a range for both body and mind.

These classes will leave you feeling strong and energised. Movements can be made more accessible or challenging depending on the participant's level. Small equipment (bands, balls and small weights) are sometimes used to add a different focus. Classes are kept small, with a maximum of 6-8 clients. You will benefit from the guidance of our instructors in a safe and supportive environment.

We welcome complete beginners, improvers and those at an intermediate level. It doesn't matter if you have never participated in a pilates class before - we can guide you through it!

Our instructors are STOTT PILATES trained. They have also expanded their training and knowledge through courses and workshops with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute), BASI Pilates, and UCD.

STOTT Pilates exercises improve core strength and balance the muscles around the joints, improving how your body functions, looks and feels. The Five Basic Principles focus on the following:

Teresa Gorman

Pilates Instructor, Nutritionist & Physiotherapy Student

Teresa is a student physiotherapist and qualified Pilates Instructor with UCD Sport & Fitness.


Anyone can attend the pilates classes. However, if you are concerned about your injury, I suggest an appointment with a physiotherapist to assess the injury. Our instructors are supportive and patient, and because our classes are small, we can give you the extra attention you may need. In addition, all pilates movements can be adapted to be made more accessible or more challenging depending on the participant's level, so we welcome all abilities.

The average active person doing 2-3 classes per week should see some results within 10-12 classes. But, of course, this will vary depending on each individual and other factors, such as the number of classes a person takes each week, whether they participate in other physical activities, and whether they have any existing injuries.

Pilates exercise is a musculoskeletal conditioning program. It’s ideal combined with a cardiovascular exercise (walking, running, aerobics, swimming etc.) and a great complement to our strength classes here at Resync.
