Designed to build muscle and optimise technique, Men’s Strength Classes offer an individualised approach to keeping you fit, functional and strong.

Why Mens strength?

Men typically have a practical perspective on their own health.

They will consider this to be healthy if they can work, play sports, or spend time with their families. Resync’s Men's Strength Classes aim to increase your cardiovascular fitness, help with weight loss, and increase muscle, in this performance-focused approach. Experienced male physiotherapists who are enthusiastic about strength and high performance training teach our men's strength classes.

Our physiotherapy experts will work with you to develop a program that focuses on your strength and fitness objectives, regardless of whether you are an elite athlete or just starting out in training.

These classes focus on:

Strengthening and Toning your various Abdominal Muscles with Core Exercises

Mobilizing and Loosening your Back and Spine

Stretching and Loosening the Neck, Shoulder and Upper Back as most of us are sitting a lot these days and that area tightens up a lot

Stretching tight Hamstrings, Calfs, Hip-Flexers and Lower Body Muscles

We suit classes for all abilities:

  • Those who have not stopped weight training
  • Those who have lapsed
  • Those who have never strength trained

It's never too late to start heading to the gym. There is no age limit to getting your dream body, and there is no age limit to sculpting a summer six-pack.

Gym-goers over the age of 50 can roughly be divided into three groups: those who have never stopped training, those who have lapsed, and those who have never exercised. It is undeniable, however, that training into your 50s has many benefits. While age-related muscle loss, called sarcopenia, is a natural part of aging (you can lose three to five percent every decade once you're 30, for example), resistance training can counteract muscle weakness and physical frailty in older people, according to numerous studies, including one published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

As a result, we enlisted PT Keith Lazarus, himself 55 and in great shape, to develop the perfect plan for experienced men. No matter what level you're at when it comes to gym stuff, here's how to build a strong body with a plan.

How do I join the Classes

We recommend scheduling an initial examination with an MVP physiotherapist or exercise physiologist in order to get the most out of your sessions.

This allows us to learn about your priorities, evaluate your level of fitness right now, look up your medical background, and check for any present illnesses or injuries.

We will then create a customized program for you that will focus on the important areas to enhance your function and performance.

If you're new to exercising, our experts can work with you one-on-one before classes begin to show you how to assess and improve your form so you can get the most out of your workouts.

Male Strength Classes

Flexible training Times

Each session at Resync is restricted to a small-group training size (maximum 6) so that the physiotherapist can speak with each of the participants individually.

In order to address your individual needs, classes include a combination of strength, core, cardiovascular, bone-loading, balance, and flexibility exercises.

We also think it's important to educate you throughout the sessions so you can better understand how exercise can enhance your health.

For best outcomes, we advise participants to come twice a week.

However, if you are unable to do this, once a week will also do.

Diarmuid, Lee, and Sean who run the female strength classes are excellent, challenging & pushing everyone towards their individual goals – no matter what age, fitness level or past injuries. Some days the intensity is 6-7/10, some days you are pushed to 10 🙂 As classes are small, everyone gets the attention & guidance needed.

I also attended Pilates which nicely complements the strength classes. It's convenient that once signed up for membership, any class from the timetable can be booked, rescheduled, or cancelled via a self-managed mobile app.

Yes, but a thorough evaluation will need to take place during a private physiotherapy consultation.

Any member of the physio team is more than qualified to evaluate your condition, however it can be arranged so that the physio who teaches your regular class also conducts the exam.
In a one-on-one meeting, we will be able to offer you personalized pain information, management, and workout program adaptations.

Depending on your health, you can benefit from a temporary suspension of your regular workout regimen in favor of physiotherapy for hands-on treatment.

Individual sessions might be reduced as your body heals to help you return to your regular routine.
