Lower back pain can be a real pain in the butt and back. In Fact 57% of people will suffer from low back pain at some point in their life.

Physiotherapy is widely accepted as a safe and efficient way to treat stiffness and pain in your lower back. Our therapists have completed years of training and have the necessary skills to provide an in-depth assessment, diagnose the cause of your pain and develop a treatment plan that will help overcome your pain.

Causes of low back pain.

Low back pain can be caused by numerous factors but the most common issues we see are people with muscle weakness that are causing PAIN, STIFFNESS, ACHINESS in their lower back. This is caused by long periods of inactivity sitting at a desk, driving or standing. Most of the injuries we see are not severe- even though their pain levels are high 95% of cases are resolved with manual therapy and strengthening exercises in our gym.

In the rare case that your injury is more severe requires a referral to a specialist, our team have close links to all major hospitals in the Dublin and great Dublin region, and ensure a smooth transition of care to the appropriate orthopedic team.

Our Treatment approach of low back pain combines Manual Therapy and Strengthening programs to relieve stiffness and improve mobility. While traditional physiotherapy approaches focused heavily on manual therapy and stretching, modern approaches combine the traditional methods with a Strength and conditioning which produces faster pain relief and lower recurrence rates.

A recent study from 2020 showed that strength training combine with core retraining and aerobic fitness can be more effective that hands on manual therapy.
