When we meet children for the first time we know this may be the first time they have been in pain or have met a physiotherapist, so they may be apprehensive about what actually happens at physio. What if my child is not active?

With children who do not have an interest in sports the most common problems we have to address are muscle tightness and muscle weakness. This is inherently directly related to the number of hours they may spend sitting either at school at home or during hobbies such as reading, computer games and other Artistic hobbies.

The most common times we see children are 3-4 weeks after the new school term starts.

WHY?

This is because their activities levels suddenly spike when they return to multiple school sports, P.E and club training. So naturally enough this is a common time where our team are at hand to help. Common issues we need to address are: STRENGTH – MUSCLE TIGHTNESS- RUNNING MECHANICS
